Context

Our client, the Institut des Hautes Études des Communications Sociales, wanted to transform a large classroom by adding a completely isolated sound booth. The new configuration of the room was intended to allow teachers to give real-time application-based courses. Additionally, our client needed some of the classrooms to be treated in terms of acoustics.

Intervention

Creation of a fully isolated sound recording booth

Supply and installation of acoustic absorbing panels, acoustic shutters, and bass traps tuned to undesirable frequencies in the room

Design and installation of an acoustic suspended ceiling.

Challenges

  • Creation of a booth isolated from the rest of the room
  • Management of acoustic absorption

Airlock

Installation of a double acoustic partition and an airlock consisting of 2 acoustic door blocks

Glass

Installation of a double-glazed frame to maintain visibility inside the booth

100

Over 100 hours were required to complete all the work
